Eric Wordekemper is a middle relief pitcher for the Trenton Thunder. He started the 2009 season with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees but didn’t perform all that well so they moved him down to Trenton and he has responded.

In his last 10 appearances for Trenton he has been pitching great. In his last 18.1 innings he is 1-1 with a 1.96 ERA. He has seven walks and 13 strike outs in this span. He has given up 10 hits and four total earned runs.

He is 26 years old, stands 6′1 and weighs 200 lbs. He was selected out of Creighton University by the New York Yankees in the 46th round(1391st overall) of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft and is a prospect.

For the season with Trenton he is 1-1 with a 1.77 ERA and has 26 strike outs in 35.2 innings pitched while appearing in 25 games. He has given up 10 walks, 24 hits, only two home runs and has a .189 batting average against.

He is a contact pitcher with a decent fastball and is flying under the radar for the Yankee organization.
