Disgraceful A-Rod Helps the Yankees Win

The New York Yankees beat the Atlanta Braves by a score of 8-4. Joba Chamberlain started and got the win.

Here’s the scene of the crime. The game between the Yankees and Braves is tied 1-1. Bases are loaded. Two outs with A-Rod up at bat. It’s an automatic out, right? No! A-Rod actually got a hit! Let me say it again, A-Rod actually got a hit! I was shocked. Disgraceful Alex Rodriguez got a clutch hit and of all things, it was on an 0-2 count! That’s not supposed to happen. Ya see, A-Rod is a bum. He’s a failed experiment for the Yankees. He’s not supposed to get clutch hits especially on an 0-2 count! He usually fails in these moments. The most disgraceful, most pathetic player in “our” life time got a clutch hit and I was left speechless.

The pitcher didn’t respect A-Rod, and he shouldn’t because A-Rod is a disgrace. He unintentionally, intentionally walked Mark Texeira to get to A-Rod to load the bases of all things. The pitcher even pitched A-Rod all fastballs in that at bat. It’s amazing to say it, but A-Rod made him pay. This is still a once in a blue moon event however with A-Rod coming through in the clutch.

What’s interesting is that after A-Rod got the clutch hit single, Mark Teixeira started seeing better pitches and got two hits.

Tony Pena had a pep talk with A-Rod before that at bat but don’t pay any mind to that. Girardi getting thrown out of the game got the Yankees juices going.

What’s going on with Robinson Cano? He keeps hitting into double play type of fielder’s choices.

At the beginning of this game, the Yankees weren’t hitting and they were getting unlucky as well. Nick Swisher’s gapper was caught, A-Rod’s liner was caught and Chamberlain’s line drive up the middle hits the pitcher in the neck and goes to short stop. The Yankees actually had a perfect game going against them through the first five innings.

Gardner walked, got picked off when he was actually safe and then Girardi got booted from the game. That’s when the game changed. Maybe Girardi should get thrown out every game.

Let’s talk about Joba. Wow. His curveball was pure awesomeness and it was dropping out of the zone to all the batters. It was a 12-6 type of drop. He wasn’t scared of contact because he knew he wasn’t playing in Yankee stadium, the new Homer Dome. Since he wasn’t scared of batters hitting it out of the park and pitched to contact, this also gave him a low pitch count because he wasn’t nibbling at the corners.

Brian Bruney should not be pitching in high pressured situations. Phil Hughes has to take that role away from him and hopefully soon.

Mariano pitched like a god. He looked unhittable.

Player of the Game: Alex Rodriguez. Started the Yankee momentum with a two out, two strike, two RBI single in the sixth inning.

  1. It was a hard game for the first half of the game.

  2. Wow I’m surprised you said nothing about your boyfriend Francisco Cervelli hitting his first Major league home run to tie the game and his calling of the game/handling of the pitching staff.

  3. Cervelli was great, wasn’t he?

cervelli is the future of catching in the bronx,

Joba is lucky, because his stuff was less than o.k.
he threw far to many pitches that were flat with no/little movement. I’m done with this experiment already the only team he could be a #3 starter is the nationals, maybe.

Check out Hughes #’s compared to Joba. Much more production, per inning and appearance and he looks like a pitcher.
Hughes, may be able to be effective in the latter innings. But he does not serve the team as well there. He can pitch longer in to games than Joba already with better stuff, and control of it. now that he has confidence, and he got it from being in the pen.he wil prove to be a better option than Joba, Wang, and maybe even Pettite at this point.

Joba should go back to the pen, regain his fastball and slider, keeping it simple, because that is best for him, thats how we get the most out of him. Wang could stand to go to the pen as well to work stuff out. Then Acevess replaces him. For the time being.

Joe needs pressure on him maybe it forces his hand and he takes some chances.

Alex needs for someone to get in his face, every once in a while. Everyone does.

  5. I’m not sure how Joba is going to pitch at this new Yankee stadium the rest of his career. With the wind tunnel affecting every pitcher, you need to be a sinker baller and Joba is a strike em out, fly ball pitcher.

joba doesn’t strike out nearlly enough guys with his no movement 92 fastball, and his some times breaks, most times spins slider.

I hope all you joba fans are ready to have your hearts broken becaause this crap will not keep him in the leauge long.
