Yankees’ Spring Training: It’s Only Spring But CC Fails
If you read around different Yankee websites, you’ll read that it’s only spring and that CC doesn’t have control of his cutter. Still, it’s the bottom line that counts when you hand out the grades.
A+ Johnny Damon
He had a perfect game going 2 for 2 with a run scored. This was a typical Damon performance.
A Mark Teixeira
What a great pick up in the offseason. They’ll need him more than ever once baseball starts. He went 2 for 3 with 1 rbi.
B- Cody Ransom
I hope the Yankees keep Ransom as their third baseman when the season starts. He went 1 for 3 and stole his second base of the spring. I give him a minus for the error he made.
C + Melky Cabrera
Melky didn’t have a hit but he scored a run, stole a base and walked once. I still feel that Gardner is going to beat him out for the center field position but Melky had a decent game.
D Alfredo Aceves
He pitched 3 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits. He gave up 2 home runs. He’s not having a good spring.
F C.C. Sabathia
At almost every Yankee website you’ll read that CC didn’t have control of his cutter and that it’s only spring training. When you see that he gives up 5 earned runs on 6 hits in 1.2 innings of work, you can’t give him anything but an F.
He’ll most likely pitch better when the season starts.
F Sean Serritella(Me)
I didn’t make this post until a gazillion hours after the game because I took a nap. Still, that’s not an excuse especially since I preach the bottom line. The bottom line is, I didn’t get this post out at a decent time so I failed!
