Yankees played well again but miss playoffs
Yankees take care of their own business
The Yankees won but were eliminated from the playoffs because Boston won. So much for the dream. At least the Yankees didn’t eliminate themselves. The Yankees played well this past week and I feel disappointed because they played like a playoff team. They are playing with pride and that’s what you want to see. You can’t ask for anything more. I agree with Joe Girardi in his post game comments when he said the Yankees are playing their best baseball of the season. I’m happy to hear Joe say that he’s going to play some of the younger guys the rest of the week. Jeter sounded a little annoyed when he said that the Yankees sign different players ever year in the post game interview. He basically said you are what your record says you are.
Jason Giambi was the hitting star of the game going 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and a home run. Mussina has a chance for 20 wins after another nice performance tonight and getting the win. Like I said earlier, the Yankees should resign him. The Yankees should use him as the crafty veteran of the pitching staff. Every staff has that one veteran and he should be the guy. I noticed that Ransom couldn’t do the Jeter “jump” in the bottom of the 8th inning when the ball went into the hole. Like Jeter said, he would like to see the Yankees win the next 5 games and so would I. Even though Girardi is going to play younger guys the next 5 games, the Yankees have to play like they are still trying to make the playoffs. That’s what a Yankee team should do. I still want to see them win because winning is the Yankee tradition and I don’t want to see them roll over. I know the Yankees aren’t going to roll over. As Yankee fans, we now root for Tampa because we hate the Red Sox. Please don’t tell me differently.
