Great ending for Yankee fans in House That Ruth Built

Yankees won 7-3

What a night for Yankee fans. What an enjoyment. I had a tear in my eye when they started chanting Paul O’Neil’s name during the pre game. What an ovation for Bernie Williams. Wow. It was good to see all the big name players from Yankees past get huge standing ovations.

Pettitte did a decent job. He got the win. The bullpen was outstanding. I thought that Phil Coke did a great job coming in the 6th inning under a pressure situation with 2 outs and 2 men on base and getting a strike out. They shouldn’t call Coke, the Pressure Cooker but the Pressure Coker. If that sounds like drugs then forget the name. Great play by Jeter in the top of the 7th when he ran across second base to throw the runner out. “Vintage” Jeter. Damon had a nice 3 run bomb.

ESPN did a great job showing Rivera walking through the gate in the 9th inning. It gave me goose bumps. Babe Ruth said after he hit the first home run at Yankee stadium that to god bless the person who hits the last home run at Yankee stadium. He said something of that nature. Funny that it was Jose Molina. What a great job Joe Girardi did when he took Derek Jeter out of the game with 2 outs so he could get a roll call which he did. The best thing ESPN did was not talk while everything was going on during the celebration. Great speech by Derek Jeter at the end of the game. He saluted us. Thanks.

The house that Ruth built. Could the new stadium be the house that Austin Jackson built? Stay tuned…

  1. Except they snubbed Joe Torre. Typical of the Steinbrenner family.

They deserve this pathetic season, just for getting rid of Joe.
