Yankees win 7-1

Yesterday I said I wanted to see the Yankees start using their younger players and they are starting to do that with their pitchers. You would of never saw Aceves start tonight if the Yankees were still in the playoff race. I want to see them start some young hitters next but it might be tough because there are some players on the Yankees that want to reach milestones like 100 runs, 100 rbi’s and you have Jeter trying to break Babe Ruth’s record for most hits ever in Yankee stadium. Aceves pitched really well tonight and he pitched well against the best team in the American league. He should get another start. Yankees bombed the Angels and won by a score of 7-1. Aceves pitched 7 innings and gave up 1 earned run. That’s great. Aceves pitches with a lot of confidence and you can’t teach confidence.

This is the easiest time for a pitcher to pitch when you are up by a lot of runs.

That was another bomb by Damon. That went a long way. Yankees lead 7-1

That was a filthy pitch by Bruney. Angels don’t score.

I thought Anderson hit that out of here. 3 hits in the game is impressive.

What a cool place to do your job. The camera man in the water fall.

It’s been a long season and I’ve learned a lot.

Excellent inning pitched by Aceves. That was a 1, 2, 3 inning.

I’m surprised Aceves is coming out to start the 7th.

Fellas, this game is over. Yankees lead 6-1. Johhny Damon with the home run. The Angels are not coming back. They haven’t been hitting well all game and I don’t see them hitting well in this game any time soon.

Top of the 7th Yankees are up

I’d take Aceves out as soon as possible and I guarantee that once some one in the bull pen is warmed up, Girardi is taking Aceves out. Angels score. Yankees lead 4-1.

Hank is loving this right now. He loves farm hands.

Flahtery doesn’t seem to like Aceves. He won’t give him any credit and is saying that he’s a 5th starter.

Aceves is doing a really, really great job.

Bottom of the 6th Angels are up

Santana’s spirit was broken when Matthew’s Jr dropped that ball.

A-Rod just hit a towering shot. That was some swing. Yankees lead 4-0

Gary Matthews should be ashamed of himself dropping that ball. They gave Jeter a triple though.

Top of the 6th Yankees are up

Jeter made that throw interesting. Nice jump and down catch by Giambi to get the runner out. Angels don’t score

That was a very bad call by the umpire. The Angel was out by a lot when Cano applied the tag on the steal attempt.

If you can’t hit a breaking ball, you could forget about having a career in the majors.

Aceves went through the heart of the Angels order and the Angels still didn’t score. This guy is the real deal.

Ugh. What an error by Jeter. The inning was over but now the Angels have a better chance to score.

I feel the same way Kenny. When Aceves is on the mound, it feels like he is in control.

Giambi dove too soon for that ball.

Bottom of the 4rth Angels are up

Nice inning by Santana Yankees don’t score but they lead 1-0.

Ervin Santana has settled down. This will be a pitching battle until the bull pens get involved.

Top of the 4rth Yankees are up

7 in a row retired by Aceves. He should get another start if he keeps pitching like this.

Bottom of the 3rd Angels are up

Abreu was out at second on the steal. It was a nice throw and tag by the Angels.

Rickey Henderson is the best base stealer I’ve ever seen.

Top of the 3rd Yankees are up

1,2,3 for Aceves and the last ball he pitched just dropped. It was 12:00 to 6:00. Angels don’t score.

It’s early but Aceves looks locked in.

Bottom of the 2nd inning. Angels are up

Santana got lucky that inning. Sharp hit balls were hit right to the outfielders. Yankees lead 1-0

Bad dive by Willits. Yankees lead 1-0. RBI by Nady. I’m glad I still have Nady starting on one of my fantasy teams.

Unlikely start by Santana but I’ll take it.

That looked like strike 3 to A-Rod.

Top of the 2nd Yankees are up

What a choke job the Rays are doing against Boston. Angels don’t score.

That shows how great major league hitters are. Even though the Angel made an out, Aceves threw a wicked pitch and the Angel still hit it.

Aceves did great for himself. He came all the way from A ball.

Bottom of the 1st Angels are up

Great job. Jeter has passed Ruth. He has the second most hits in Yankee history. Yankees don’t score

Ervin Santana is a great pitcher.

Top of the 1st Yankees are up

PreGame: I’m looking forward to watching Aceves pitch.
