Yankees win over the Blue Jays 5-1

Yankees win 5-1

Some notes about this game. Jeter has been on fire. He’s really turned it around. This might be the first year he doesn’t get 200 hits in a season since 2004 but he has 28 hits in August and the most hits he’s had in a month this season has been 33 and that came in June. The Yankees have 10 games left in the month of August so it looks like he’ll pass 33 hits. Pettitte looked very good but the Blue Jays don’t score many runs. Pettitte will probably get 15 wins which is a good year.

The Yankees won over the Blue Jays by a score of 5-1. Starting for the Yankees was Andy Pettitte and he gave up 1 earned run on 5 hits in 7 innings of work for the win. Replacing Pettitte to start the 8th inning was Brian Bruney and he looked good pitching 2 perfect innings. His era is 2.33. The hitting stars of the game for the Yankees worth mentioning were center fielder Johnny Damon who went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 1 rbi and short stop Derek Jeter who went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi’s along with a home run.

As I was watching this game, I didn’t find any one that did anything disgraceful so I don’t have a Disgraceful Player of the Game. If I was to pick a disgraceful player, it would be forced and I wouldn’t mean it so no disgrace.

  1. I’d like to see Pettitte get 15 wins. That’s a nice year.

  2. I didn’t watch the whole game. I don’t usually watch every play of the game but I always make sure to catch the last inning.
