Brian Bruney pitched a scoreless 9th inning giving up 1 hit and has a1.45 era and was hitting 95 on the gun.
The hitting stars of the game for the Yankees worth mentioning were right-fielder Bobby Abreu, third baseman Alex Rodriguez, second baseman Wilson Betemit and catcher Jose Molina. Abreu went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored and 2 rbi’s along with a home run. Rodriguez went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored and 1 rbi along with a home run. You can’t count out Mussina. He’s a veteran and he’s got great stuff.

The Yankees just handed it to them today. The Yankees needed this win. Too bad about yesterday.

The Yankees have to hit against Lackey tomorrow so it won’t get easier.

Glad the Yanks stomped the Halos, and thanks for stopping by The Heartland for some in-game chatter. Good to see the bottom of the order produce (5-11, 4 runs, 3 RBIs–all from Betemit and Molina). Man, I’d like to see Jeter get on a tear. He’s been hitting OK lately, usually at least one a game, but just treading water with the average for the last month. With Abreu and A-Rod hot, adding Jeter on a tear would be huge. Giambi too.
You’re absolutely right about Lackey, Robert–always tough on the Yanks.
