Yankees lose heartbreaker to Angels 1-0
Yes, I did see the ending of this game. I was at the Outback Steak House on route 46 in Parsippany and they had the game on the tv. The New York Yankees lost to the Los Angeles Angels by a score of 1-0. Starting for the Yankees was Sidney Ponson and he pitched a great game pitching 7 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits along with 4 walks for the no decision. Damaso Marte pitched a perfect 8th inning striking out 2 batters. Mariano Rivera lost the game in the 9th inning by giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits.
The hitting star of the game for the Yankees worth mentioning was Derek Jeter for going 2 for 4.
The Disgraceful Player of the Game was Joe Girardi for bringing in Mariano Rivera into a tie game. He should know better. This year, Mariano has only given up 1 run when he comes into a game that is not tied. What Joe did was not only a disgrace, but a nightmare.

No matter which pitcher had been brought in and had given up the run you would print the same immature, uninformed drivel!!! In fact, you would be whining about not bringing in the ‘closer’ (your best pitcher) to hold the other team!!

What you don’t understand Shawn is that Mariano has been giving up runs when the Yankees are either tied with the other team or losing. When Mariano comes in with a save situation, he doesn’t give up a run.
