Brett Gardner being called up
I read this at Pete Abraham’s Blog. According to Pete’s blog, Pete found the info here… The Times Democrat. Now, let’s look at Brett Gardner’s stats… Brett Gardner’s stats. He’s batting .287. That’s not the greatest but he walks, a lot. Not only does he walk, but he steals bases like he knows who he is. In his past 10 games he walked 15 times and stole 9 bases. Whoa. His on base percentage is an incredible .412 for the year and has the second highest on base percentage in the international league. The Boston Red Sox usually draft players that have a high on base percentage because common sense says that the more you get on base, the better chance you have of scoring. Oh, and who leads the international league in stolen bases? Yup, Brett Gardner with 34. He also leads the international league in walks with 61 and the second highest is 46. He leads the league in triples with 10. This means that out of all the minor league call ups, Brett Gardner is the best base stealing threat. What else does that mean? Get ready to pick him up in fantasy if he plans to stick around. Now, what’s going to happen to Melky? He hasn’t been exactly cutting it as a hitter for the Yankees but he does have a strong arm and he’s still only 23. Gardner is 24.

If he could get on base like he does in the minor leagues, then all will be right in this world.

Maybe he could spark the dull offense.
