Yankees battered, punished and abused the Orioles
The Yankees won easily over the Baltimore Orioles by a score of 6-3. C.C. Sabathia got the win. Mariano Rivera got the save.
Don’t let score fool you. This game wasn’t close and the Orioles had no chance to beat the Yankees. They had no chance all series. They are an inferior team. It’s a shame but that’s what they are. The Yankees brought thunder and fire to this game. The Yankees roared and the Orioles rolled over. The sound of fury was in the air and it was a discharge of incentive.
The Yankees had the hunger, the hunger to win and the desire to put their target in repose. They were hungry. Hungry like the wolf like Duran Duran. Hungry Eyes like Eric Carmen. They were hungry like the hippo. There was no stopping the Yankees in this game. They played like they had cause. They played like it mattered. The Yankees would not let this day fall to the adversary. The Orioles had to be put down and put down they were. There was no getting around the inevitable.
Alex Rodriguez – 2-for-4 with one run scored and two RBI because of a magical home run. It was magical. It was marvelous and almost supernatural.
Brett Gardner – 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI. He hit a home run. He stole a base. He ran so fast that when he stole second base, he almost went by it like a car skidding in a crash. It was an unbelievable scene. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.
When C.C. Sabathia pitched, I didn’t expect him to dominate but just win. He’s not dominant this year. He’s really good. Three earned runs on three hits in seven innings of work for the win against a professional baseball team? I’ll take it. I like that. Do you like that?
Mariano was throwing 95.
The Yankees won in a sweep. Good deal.
The Yankees play the Toronto Blue Jays tomorrow who have a winning record. It should be more fun than the Orioles series.
