Adeinis Hechavarria will not sign with the Yankees but with the Blue Jays
According to George King of the NY Post, ultra talented Cuban short-stop Adeinis Hechavarria will not sign with the Yankees but with the Toronto Blue Jays for 10 million a year. He’s afraid that Derek Jeter is going to sign an extension that will make it hard for him to play short stop in the near future.
It’s also believed the Yankees were willing to trade Robinson Cano after the 2011 season so Adeinis could play second base.
I don’t believe this kid wants to play second base and I don’t believe he wants to wait for Jeter. That’s a good problem the Yankees have. They have a lot of good veterans on their team and they also have a lot of young guys knocking on the door. The Yankees do a good job with grooming position players.
If he was a pitcher, then you can bet the Yankees would of signed him because there’s always room for a pitcher.
