Assets
* Has a fantastic change-up that makes his darting low-90′s heat look even hotter. Also has a good curve ball. Keeps his cool in pressure situations.
Flaws
* Must do a better job of keeping the ball in the ball park, especially at home.
Cole Hamels did not pitch well against the Dodgers. He started two games and had a 6.52 ERA. He gave up five total home runs and had a .310 batting average against.
Andy Pettitte
| Year | W | L | G | IP | BB | SO | SV | ERA |
| 2009 Season | 14 | 8 | 32 | 194.2 | 76 | 148 | 0 | 4.16 |

| 2009 | 2 | 0 | 3 | 19.0 | 3 | 15 | 0 | 2.37 |
Assets
* Has one of the best pick-off moves in the history of the game. Owns tremendous movement on all his pitches, especially his cutter that moves in on righties.
Flaws
* Needs to keep his base-runners down. Consistently averages over one hit per inning,
Andy pitched very well against the Angels. He started two games and had a 2.84 ERA. He struck out eight total batters and walked only two.
Advantage: New York Yankees. Andy Pettitte has been great all post season and Cole Hamels hasn’t. If there is a blow out in the world series, this will be the game.
Got my info from SB Nation, mlb.com and fox sports.

the yankees should blow the phillies out if hamels is going to start. you’re right about pettitte being great in the playoffs.

This does appear to be in the Yankees favor, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he came through with a big game.

Anything is possible in the post season. Hamels could even throw a complete game shut out and it wouldn’t surprise me. Hamels was an ace last year.
