Let’s Go Twins? or Tigers?
I’m not sure I want the Twins to win and the Tigers to lose. The New York Yankees would have to face a strong one-two punch that the Tigers would throw at us and the fact that the Yankees are 7-0 against the Twins would make you think that you want the Twins. Here’s the thing though with the Twins. Law of averages says that you can’t win every game against an opponent.
I wouldn’t mind the Tigers having to win their last game and Verlander who’s slated to pitch tomorrow, would have to give his all. He would also have to pitch tomorrow if the Twins win tonight and the Tigers lose. Then we would only face him one time in a short series and he most likely would be burned out.
Justin Verlander has thrown 128, 126 and 129 pitches in his last three starts. In addition to those high pitch counts, Verlander has thrown 125 or more pitches in five of his last seven starts and 120 or more an alarming 10 times in 2009.
I’d love to have a burned out Verlander pitching against the Yankees.
