Yankees
I’m keep asking myself this question. If I’m a fan, why should I keep watching? Especially on a Sunday when the Giants are playing. Wow. Talk about being dead in Yankee land when the Super Bowl Giants were playing their first game of the season. They played at the same time as the Yankees. First, if you’re a real fan, you watch because the Yankees are your favorite team. You watch because you get to see young players from our farm play in more games than usual since the Yankees are on life support. Most fans like to see farm hands get an opportunity to play. Well, what if I’m a bandwagon fan, Sean? If you’re a bandwagon fan, you’re a loser. It’s that simple.
You should watch the Yankees because you want to see Derek Jeter pass Babe Ruth who’s second on the all time Yankee hit record. You should also watch because you want to see Derek Jeter break the all time hit record at Yankee stadium. I actually forgot who holds the record. I think it’s Lou Gehrig. You also have Mike Mussina going for 20 wins and he’s going to be real close. It’s not like the Yankees will have to rest him for the playoffs.
Let’s say the Yankees are out of the playoffs by the time they play the Red Sox the last 3 games of the season. You’re telling me that you’re not going to watch it? Come on, it’s the Red Sox! Unless it’s a preseason game, all Yankee-Red Sox games are must see tv.
I’d really like to thank the lord or karma for not letting me be friends with any Met fans. I was friends with one around the year 2000 and he was really annoying. All he did was put the Mets in my face especially in the world series. It’s pretty stressful being good friends with some one when they are big time fans of another team that rivals your team. I moved so I haven’t seen him since.
Back on point. Here’s the best reason to watch the Yankees the rest of this year. The Red Sox. They have a history of choking and you just never know with them.
